An enjoyable day
It was a glorious, sunny morning and we started the day with a FaceTime call to friends in the UK. It’s always good to catch up. After that we hopped on a bus into Newmarket to make a couple of necessary purchases, plus a bit of browsing. We decided to walk to the city to catch a bus home, thereby getting some much-needed exercise. On the way we popped in to say hello to a friend who’s working in a design store and had a light lunch away from the hustle and bustle. As we approached the bus stop on Quay Street our bus arrived - great timing!
On our way along Parnell Road we passed a plaque marking the site of St Mary’s pro-Cathedral, which eventually became part of Holy Trinity Cathedral. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Trinity_Cathedral,_Auckland. By that time the sun was hidden behind dark clouds. Rain is coming, but hopefully not until Monday.
It’s Day 18 of Level 3 Step 2, and there are 145 new community cases of Covid-19. Of these, 127 are in Auckland, 13 in the Waikato, 4 in the Bay of Plenty and 1 in Christchurch, with another death being reported.
