Claypits
Got the train into Glasgow this morning to meet up with one of my friends. After the obligatory coffee and scone we walked up to Speirs Wharf and headed off along the Canal. Our planned destination was the relatively new Claypits Nature Reserve, which opened to the public as recently as July this year and in which there's still quite a bit of tree planting and groundwork being done.
It's not a large area but we zigzagged our way around before rejoining the Canal at the new Garscube footbridge (see photo). A relatively short walk back along the Canal and a (late) lunch followed, giving us just enough time to catch our respective trains home before darkness and the high winds came. A grand day out.
