Tumbledown

Today I could find no escape from the cloud when I looked at the North East Scotland weather map. After breakfast at Raemoir we headed to the coast. We had a walk in Stonehaven and them headed a little further south as far as Johnshaven where we had another walk along the front along the front.

I had several potential Blip photographs and I settled on this one. This little shack looks like it may have seen better days, though it could be it looked not much better when it was new.

It may be still used for storage. There is quite a nice house behind me as I take this photo, from the middle of the road, but then there is not much traffic. For the house the shack serves one important function. Though is partially blocks the view of the sea from the house, it also blocks the view of the public convenience which is immediately behind this shack. Even though it may not be an architectural masterpiece it is a lot better than looking at a public convenience.

We looked in at two small fishing ports, Johnshaven and Gourdon. Not much activity in either of them, it is a Sunday though, and Easter Sunday at that. At Johnshaven we did see a fisherman putting out his creels, and in Gourdon another fisherman preparing to do the same. There should be lobster available in the local restaurants for lunch on Easter Monday.
