The rhododendron bush is amazing in surviving the winter, partly under snow. It was wonderful to watch how the plant reacted to temperature, with all the leaves curving in and looking brown and much smaller for the night with -10C, and then widening up when it was sunny and +4C. Some outer lower branches peeked from beneath the snow, like these two.
