More experiments..
Tried out a different method of setting up the leaf - have previously done them flat on a sheet of glass with a light below, this time (thanks to a guy on YouTube) tried clamping the leaf by its stalk, letting it hang vertically with a little LED light behind it. Used focus stacking to compensate for curling of the leaf - another chance to practise my technique & use some software (Zerene Stacker) which I'd downloaded as a trial for a month. The stacking was quicker & better than with Photoshop - the soft sections were due to operator error in judging the depth of the stack needed, or maybe because the leaf had curled more deeply between testing & actual shots, because of the light on it! Lots to learn & decisions to make..
