Granny's Bonnet seed head
A few domestic odd-jobs (very minor odd jobs) completed in the morning then headed off to supervise an exam this afternoon which became interesting when the fire alarm went off :| No harm done and students dealt very well with the interruption. Home via the supermarket then a light tea and catch up on the events in the world. Life is simple, as is this seed head which was shot during a 10-minute stroll around the garden/play with Minnie.
Rain forecast for the weekend so I hope to get a few more indoorsy jobs done.
In COVID news, there were 173 new community cases today; 78 people are in hospital and 8 in ICU. 92% of eligible people have received their first vaccination and 82% are double vaxed. Nelson-Marlborough DHB is sitting at 91% partially vaxed and 83% fully vaxed. Slow but sure. The news this evening that [yet] another COVID variant is emerging, this one in South Africa is worrying: this one - Nu - reportedly shows a high number of mutations and the ability to spread even more rapidly.
