Look at me!
Apart from us both starting out the day with a 2000m time trial in rowing, it was on the whole a much easier day today than yesterday. Instead of a long drive on a southern safari to a wild scrub area noted for birds, we decided that could it could wait until the weather was a bit brighter, or at least some blue skies.
So it was off to Wittunga Botanic Gardens in Blackwood (the next suburb to us) for a quick bird blip. My latest challenge is to get birds on the wing, as static birds are great but birds on the wing are more challenging. The best place for this is by the lake where many more birds are present.
This is a female mallard, just coming into land. Not particularly graceful, but the wings more than make up for it!
Bigger wings.
PS. We both managed 2000m PBs for the season.
