Sparrowhawk (male)

This chap sat in the garden for quite a long time today, in rather an awkward place for photography. I had to go to an upstairs window and stand on a stool in order to get a clear view. The prey (a goldfinch) was pretty much plucked when I got into position. The sprawk sat very still looking around for several minutes, then eventually went back to picking at the carcass.
