Sunrise
I was reminded this morning that the winter is the time for occasionally actually seeing something of a sunrise from the back of our house, now that the leaves are off the trees.
It was a lovely warm day today - a good thing since the boys (men) came over for some apple pie in honor of Thanksgiving. We've pretty much given up on the major effort of an actual Thanksgiving meal as such. If they had spouses and children and lived somewhere else it might make some kind of sense to make an effort to get together for a major celebration. But as they live pretty much right here and there's only the four of us, it hardly seems worth the bother. Particularly since we (parents) and #2 son are all vegetarians, so turkey wouldn't be involved anyway. So apple pie! We were outside because #1 son - who suffers from a major needle phobia - still hasn't managed to talk himself into getting the COVID jab(s). The other three of us are pretty annoyed and worried about it, but there's nothing we can do. So we meet with him outdoors. Of course, he's in more danger from US than we are from him.
