Hallelujah--Christ is risen!
Outside, it was a gloomy, wet Easter Sunday morning, but that didn't dampen our spirits at church this morning as we celebrated our risen Lord, with glorious music, accompanied by Chancel Bells, brass quartet and organ. We didn't get to sing with the choir this morning, as the hand bells were accompanying the anthem and the hymns, as well as playing an arrangement of Beethoven's Ode to Joy with the brass quartet as the Introit and another piece on our own for the offertory. It was an uplifting morning. When we got home we made our usual phone call to Roger's parents, and had our weekly Skype session with our daughter Laura in Macedonia. In Macedonia their Christian faith is the Eastern Orthodox religion, and they don't celebrate Easter until May 5th! I fixed our Easter dinner this evening - roast chicken and all the trimmings, followed by trifle, so we now feel well-stuffed!
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
