6th hole

This is the 6th hole at Old Thorns, which Stuart and I call the Devils hole.  It's over 500 yards long and you need to hit a really accurate drive to give yourself a chance of getting to the green in three shots.  My drive was superb.  Sadly, too superb as it flew perfectly straight, bounced a couple of times and then jumped into a ditch running across the fairway.  I've not seen anyone drive the ditch before so I wasn't overly disappointed in having to drop a shot.  A lovely 5 iron left me with just over 100 yards to the green and you can see the result of this shot above.  Andy still made me putt out for a par, which was sandwiched between two birdies.  This was my little perfect patch and normal service was quickly resumed and Andy beat me :-(
