Wild Wednesday: Tufted Duck

If ducks were designed by Matt Groening, this tufted duck would definitely be one of the Simpson duck family. You an just tell when you look at that little yellow eye that Homer was its Dad ...  Although that tufted hair style might make you assume that one would be called Bart it is in fact the female of the species - so Lisa perhaps.  

This relatively common diving duck finds and eats its food largely under the water.  I watched this one diving and swimming several feet below the  surface of the water looking for molluscs, insects and plants to eat.
