Flooding slowly...

This is the Barquerina, a parks-and-play area alongside the river in Villaviciosa. At the moment the flooding is just rainwater - two days of heavy rain - brought down by the river and backing up as it meets the estuary at sea level. Later, the tides will rise, and then the whole area will be flooded. When it´s bad enough this can close the ring road. At its worst, once, we had to drive away from town to the motorway and come back in from the other side. Global warming isn´t going to be kind to Villaviciosa.
