Our noble history

Genealogy is an interesting issue. A week ago I entered into a GENi.com finnish project in which the main idea is to find out how we all geneal link together and where are finns from.

The main idea for me was to to to find my roots, as I did not know my mother's side relatives and ancestors at all. Neither did my mother. Also my father's side was distant to me.

A lot found out within a week already - with these modern ways of building genealogical tree together. I have gor a helper from Geni-project and he teachers me looking into various historical references. A lot of history is in digital libraries already, for decades there has been a big project of digitalisation of year books of churches in Finland, so I do not have to travel anywhere to read ancient priests' handwriting. I can do it from my own computer to check happenings and references.

Last night it was cleared, to me that on my mother's side there is noble men, knights, judges, elite at first in Finland. Looking further our ancestors are from Denmark and Germany dukes... Actually the blood line of my mother goes straight to the current king of Sweden.

Quite a surprise to my mom, as I visited her and told this. I can not imagine how she must feel now. She has never known her father being well, as her father came from war badly injured as my mom was born. 

Spending four hours at my mom's, struggling in printing the corona passport. My mother had never used her electric bank keys (which se had got 2013) and now it was time to act. She (= I) had to log in in to digital welfare system and identification is made via bank keys.

I was so tired in the evening as I got back home, that I bought a takeaway hamburger and took a can of Long drink...
