Panel 38 - Border Reivers

We really thought we were nearly finished with the Reivers, just a bit to do on the horses' heads at the foot of the panel. Then we added the flowing manes and raindrops which Robyn (artist and horsewoman) had designed to show the horses going through the Border countryside in the rain and wind of the winter months ........ suddenly it doesn't seem nearly finished at all, though we're still hoping to really keep at it and finish by the end of April. Note the addition of a moon. Kinmont Willie's surname was Armstrong, and his most famous descendent is Neil Armstrong (who was awarded the Freedom of Langholm), so we thought there was only one way to acknowledge this. As the Reivers rode in the winter months, often at night, our moon appears in a stormy wintery sky.
