Penpol Creek

Ann hasn't had a 'rant' for ages. So she's going to have one today?!

Today she had lots of jobs to do.

Her first job was; go to Lelant to pick up her car from where she'd left it last night. Last night she went to 'Lelant Village Hall' to see local band'BLOOZE' playing. Obviously last night involved a few glasses of wine. I like it when Ann leaves her car in obscure places. It means I get a really long morning walk. This morning we walked four miles before breakfast to get Ann's car.

After breakfast Ann decided that she was going to paint part of her living room wall. This winter our house has suffered from a lot of condensation and Ann is constantly having to wash mildew off various walls in the house - (must be something to do with all the rain 'cos we don't normally have a problem?!)

Anyway, I got left 'home alone' while Ann went off to 'Penzance B&Q' to buy some paint. When she came back she was very grumpy. She said, 'Molly, B&Q was closed so I haven't got any paint'. She was sooo mad that she 'tweeted', 'B&Q is shut'. Then a friend tweeted, 'The Edinburgh one is open if that's any help'??!! Well of course it wasn't any help?! Edinburgh is 625 miles away from us. We can hardly just pop up there for a pot of paint can we?

So then Ann decided we'd go to Truro. She said, 'Molly you can come with me. We'll definitely find somewhere to buy paint and then we'll go looking for another 'Cornish P' place to blip'.

So off we went to Homebase, The Range, Wickes - all closed. Ann said, 'Molly, it's a Bank Holiday Weekend - people do DIY on Bank Holiday Weekends. Why are all these shops closed?'

Ann's very knowledgeable sister has told her that it's because when 'Sunday openings came into being (many years ago) it was on the proviso that these shops would be closed on Christmas Day & Easter Day. Something to do with religion? So what are we to do on Easter Sunday? Sit around stuffing our faces with Easter Eggs? Neither of us have any?!!

By this time Ann was extremely grumpy but I was very happy because I knew that she'd given up shopping and was going to take me for a long walk in a place we'd never been before.

So off we went to 'Penpol Creek'. What a lovely place. So picturesque. Fabulous houses - well, I'm not interested in houses but Ann is. Lovely creek side walk for us. Lovely new smells for me. It was fabulous. So we both came home happy.

And tomorrow morning I'm going for my walk along the beach and then I'm going to 'Mr Colensoes' at 8am so that Ann can buy paint. Why we didn't just do that in the first place I'll never know??!!

Shop local!!!!!!!?
