Friday: Yukon Theatre

We had originally intended to go down to Palm Springs for a four day weekend but found the testing regimes (and price of them) quite cumbersome so we have gone to the other extreme and have come up to Whitehorse, in the Yukon, where it is currently -26 degrees.  I’ve re-experiencing what it’s like to have your nose hairs freeze.

There’s a limit to how long you can stay out in temperatures like that but we’ve still had a good look around, helped by popping in and out of various places.

We had lunch at the ‘Burnt Toast Cafe’ and the drinks and dinner this evening in one of the coolest places we’ve been to, the ‘Woodcutter’s Blanket’.  The core of it (minus the extension) is an original Gold Rush saloon.  There’s a reason it often features in Canada’s best bars list.
