Really Foggy

It was really pea-soup foggy on the top of the hills this afternoon - but I kept going hoping that the sun would break through. It really didn't, although I could tell there was only a thin layer at the summit, I could hear small planes droning overhead and there were hints of blue. Just at the time the sun should set the fog glows pink for a moment or two - I hastily pulled over and captured what I could. It was strange that the sunset glow was somehow coming from the east, not the west - does it reflect off the fog particles somehow?
