The Strathfarrar 4 er...... 3

Up at daft o'clock to pick up Trish and blast up to Strathfarrar for the gate to the glen opening at 9. We got there at quarter past joined by our mate Colin.

The reason for this malarkey is that the owners of the glen give you a window
of 09:00 to 18:00 to get in do the hills and GTF. I won't get into the land reform arguments around this... it just is.

We get in and hammer up to the western most munro after leaving cars at each end. The ascent onto the ridge was hampered by some right dodgy cornices and the path being snowed up and a right steep ascent including kicking steps and axing into the frozen turf went on. Certainly slowed as down as we ended up having to drop of after the third of the four to try and get down to the road and out before 6.

The views from up there from Ben Nevis the Cairngorms, Beauly firth and the far North West were incredible

After a horrific descent we managed to get out at 18:40 with Colin getting some right abuse from the gate keeper; shit happens, we did cut our day short and there was no need for the earful he got.

After that it was a long drive up to Badrallach bothy and campsite to meet the rest of the club, get fed, have a couple of beers and get ready for the next day.

Fabulous day on the hill, if a little rushed due to the crap conditions the land owners impose.
