"In the Beginning" 1982 Judy Chicago

"And then the sounds were heard again
as the very center of the Earth began to tear
And with a great ripping noise
the blood surged out of the torn center of the Earth
And this torrent of blood became a mighty rainfall
and the Earth became fertile
And her body rose up and her thighs became the mountains
and her belly formed the valleys
Plants sprang up from the flesh and living creatures crawled out of
her crevices and waters ran down her arms and formed the oceans
and the rivers
And from her breasts issued the white milk of light which nourished
and illuminated the life that had emerged from her very being
and would always be hers to protect"
