Everest summit push

In 1975 Dougal Haston is photographed by his climbing partner Doug Scott on the Hilary Step the last 'hurdle' before the summit. They were the first known Britons to reach the summit of Everest and because of the lateness of the day they had to bivouac at the summit. This photo is a favourite of mine signed for me by Doug Scott who was in Glasgow raising funds for a Nepalese charity.
