Oreo, 11/18/21

Oreo is still hanging on. The hardest part is seeing her unable to eat. We have tried everything, but it seems she just can’t. It’s heartbreaking.

She went from sleeping in front of the fire, to suddenly wanting out. She had an energetic walkabout, completely in hunting mode. She went way out past our barn, where she had not been in years.

A friend sent me a link to this article in Newsweek, and I think it might be a possible explanation.

A hospice nurse writes about the condition known as “the rally,” and we wonder if it could work with animals as well. We have seen that with other pets on their way out. Whatever it is, we want some peace for Oreo.
