The Snowman!

Every year my class works to create a winter display and this year it's inspired by an absolute classic film; The Snowman. I drew the snowman and the little boy, James, before the children set to work on them yesterday. The Snowman has a cotton wool body with fabric added for the hat, scarf, buttons and facial features. The little boy is painted but with fabric for his pyjamas. :-) They love large scale art projects!

It'll take several weeks yet to complete the other bits and bobs but it's good to have made a start. The animated sequences of the film combined with the background music and a theme of friendship are magical. It's an old film which has stood the test of time without a doubt.

I thought I'd blip this "art attack" rather than another wet, damp, gloom filled weather day...even in the dark! Although, at least it was slightly less drizzly than earlier on my evening stroll. :-)
