Ice - Grasmere Lake

Walked around Rydal Water and Grasmere Lake, cold, not much sun, and everywhere is looking a bit dull and rather desolate. Its not quite still Winter but its also not quite yet Spring.

There are some little patches of snow still left hut it looks more messy than beautiful.
Not much evidence of new growth yet, probably too cold, apart from some small buds appearing in the hedges

Large parts of the lakes have a thin cover of ice, so no shadows or reflections in the water, at th edge of the lake the broken ice is washing onto the shore piece on top of piece creating mini mountains of ice at the edge of the water.
