Back in the mists of time.
Whilst we were down in God's own country, aka Yorkshire, I was able to make copies of some old family photographs.
The main photograph, taken in 1908, shows my maternal grandmother Edith (whom I never met) with her young son Reuben in the doorway of her mother's house.
Reuben was to enjoy a very adventurous life. After working in the local woollen mill he went off to India as a section manager in the New Edgerton mills in Dhariwal in the Punjab. The extra from the mid 1930s shows him, on the right, enjoying a night out in Lahore with his colleagues. What the occasion and the significance of the uniform was we have no idea! But a very far cry indeed from West Yorkshire!
