Kop
I’m not getting to much football at the moment, but a mid-week FA Youth Cup tie provided a good opportunity to get a different view of the inside of Valley Parade, as only the Lower Kop was opened up for spectators.
I’ve now sat on all four sides of the ground, but not yet the NW corner which is effectively it’s own pie-slice structure filling the gap between the Kop and main stands.
City U18s started promisingly with a goal inside two minutes, but Oldham soon equalised. The first half remained fairly even but Oldham took the lead in the second half and from that point looked on top. A further goal in the last seconds made it 1-3, so it is the visitors from over the Pennines that progress to the third round.
