Tower House, Bangor, N Ireland
Dates back to 1637, the oldest building in N Ireland in continuous public use. Built in the Scottish Baronial style - when Bangor was developing as a town/port under Scottish landlord Sir James Hamilton, first Viscount Clandeboye in the time of King Charles I - when Scottish settlers needed secure and defendable houses.
In 1830 it was a bording school for girls
In 1933-1954 it was a bathhouse (hot seawater)
Now a tourist information centre!
