Angling for breakfast
On my last day in Austin I decided to walk along a secluded path to the Colorado river while it wasn’t too hot.
I was lucky to spot this character looking for their breakfast who didn’t seem bothered by me being so close.
There were what I think were Great Egrets along the Colorado and turtles searching for prey. Austin also has a big population of Mexican free tailed bats that live under the Congress Avenue Bridge and leave for Mexico in November when it gets cold. Sadly they weren’t around when I visited but I could hear them huddled under the bridge.
