Wharfedale...

...one of the more southern Dales of Yorkshire. It's not until you leave the towns that you realise what the farmers had to deal with. This shot was taken about 20 miles north of Harrogate near a small village called Hebden.

Most of the snow has gone, except from the remains of the huge drifts that built up. It was a beautiful cold and sunny morning and good to be out enjoying the countryside.

Plenty of sheep were in the fields with their tiny lambs and the farmer was out distributing food for them. We forget how difficult it can be sometimes for farmers and this is not what you would call remote.
