horns of wilmington's cow

Growing back in

Freya moults like clockwork each year, and is looking a bit scraggly just now with no tail, and various patches starting to grow back. The feathers push through as the plastic-like quills first, with the end eventually opening up, and the feather then pluming out. More visible as a concept when looking at the large bum feathers in the extra, but happens right down to the tiny tiny facial feathers.
