A day of two halves: morning spent walking with the spaniel on the South Downs (Blackcap, Mount Harry and the Offham Escarpment) under blue skies; afternoon spent moving 30 bags of horse manure from the front drive round to the back garden and distributing it under dark grey skies. The manure was free so I can't complain. The first batch of next year's sweet pea seedlings have gone out to the cold frame. More will be sown in January.
