The Long Pond

We had more rain and a little wind last night. Today was cooler and breezier than it's been. I went for a little walk on our road. First I went down to the long pond at the edge of our property to see how the water was flowing over the dam. The dam is an old wooden thing that is slowly deteriorating. When it goes the pond will still be there but much reduced. The beavers help to keep things full but there are those that don't like the beaver doing what they do. It's sort of a sad state of affairs. But today the pond was full from the rain and flowing well. This is all part of Shepardson Brook that flows to the bay not far from us.
