Another year gone....

... with not a lot happening.  Birthday bouquet from my sister.  J and I went out for dinner to the Heron, near to Strathaven.  This is a small daytime, farm restaurant serving coffee and cake and lunches until 5pm.  However in an effort to promote locally grown and farmed produce they have a "seasonal tasting menu" when they open from 7pm until 10.30pm.  On the menu was venison carpaccio, pan-fried pheasant breast, hazelnut & chive crusted coley and Parma ham wrapped rabbit loin plus seasonal vegetables and home made dressings and chutneys.  it all tasted delicious and we will certainly return for the Winter tasting menu in February.
