breakfast in the park
Or Russell Square, to be more precise. As Anniemay mentioned in her blip, we have an early start in London.
After coffee and pastries we head across Russell Square to the British Museum to see an exhibition of drawings for The Great Picture Book of Everything - a sort of paper wikipedia of the world for 19th Century Japanese readers, by Hokusai. One of the most surprising things about it - to us anyway - is that some of the drawings depicting action scenes are in a style which looks very similar to the present-day Manga drawings we saw on a visit to the Museum in 2019.
We then walked down Drury Lane to The Strand for an exhibition of original sets, props, costumes and artwork from The French Dispatch film. Amazing stuff - can't really do it justice in blip. See extras. (For those who favour 2-wheels, the bike is used by a travel writer played by Owen Wilson).
A long day. London was busy but we avoided tubes and buses - walked where we could and then got a cab back to the station. But a good one.
