Marjorie's ramblings

Persimmon

A few years ago I had never knowingly seen or tasted a persimmon. My first one was served at breakfast, perhaps in Myanmar, I'm not sure.

Last week I bought a pack from a well known supermarket. Once they ripened they were delicious, so I bought them again this week. Air miles? Oh dear, I didn't think about that.

It's been a day of mixed fortunes. I managed to clean the sensors from both camera for Orkney. I could see the specs through the embroidery magnifier in Mum's workroom. I was delighted with the results.

On a more negative note, I forgot to add to my Tesco order last night, so a meagre few things arrived this morning. I almost accidentally accepted more items that were not mind either!

I went to Tesco this afternoon and, hopefully, managed the shop I should have done online.

Later on, I took hold of a very hot pan on the hob, thinking it was not on. Not only did I burn one finger, but the pan landed on the floor and has burned a ring on my beautiful flooring. I haven't even started to think about how to remove the stuff that has burned on the pan.

No more knitting for me tonight.  I'll live, but I'm not happy with myself. Thank goodness for ice pads and paracetamol.

Once the persimmon ripens I can console myself guiltily with its delicious fruit.
