Autumn on the mountains

The colours are showing now on the mountains as all the trees change. I walked up towards the next village and remarked that it really feels close to the end of autumn with the sun appearing later from behind the mountain and disappearing earlier. There is a very sharp transition of light and temperature when the sun disappears beyond a peak. We had our Remembrance service this morning. We only had two ringers as three are away in Dordrecht and one overslept! I decided just to toll the tenor which seemed appropriate for today. There is no dinner to cook tonight as we have been invited out for an evening meal.
