It's a Guac-Off!

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

Tonight we went to El Jefe's for drinks and "Cards Against Humanity".

He lives in an amazing house not far from Shenée, right up the top of a steep hill. Because we lived in Scotland, Caro and I turned up with food, a gift and A LOT OF ALCOHOL.

The gift was a book called Hia Kai and is named after a restaurant here in Wellington. It is about the fusion of Māori culture with restaurant cuisine. As it turns out it was the BEST GIFT EVER.

"Oh my GOOOOOOD, I've been drooling over that book!" said Manda, Jefe's partner who has only been in the country for a couple of months. And literally within minutes, Caro and Manda were best buddies and planning lunches together.

Then Shenée and Craig turned up and this was significant because it meant the start of our "guac-off" wherein Craig, Jefe and myself all made a small bowl of guacamole and then the three women got to choose the best one.

Jefe won with his "guac with feta" whereas mine (featuring Greek yoghurt) came in last. "I thought yours was best," said Jefe, but I know he was just being nice.

Feta. Huh.

Then it was down to Cards Against Humanity which was heaps of sick, twisted fun as always. And Caro won because she is the sickest motherf*cker in the room. As always. We all drunk too much* and so obviously were hilarious. Caro got to try out Jefe's egg chair and we discovered we are all film nerds.

So hopefully this is just the start of something that involves friends and fun and films and filth and heavy drinking. I am a simple man of simple tastes.

S.

* Except Craig and Shenée who do not drink. And who drove us home. I love partying with teetotallers.
