Don't you love fresh green beans?????

Had a pick of my beans this morning, these are now all blanched and in freezer. how satisfying.....When i was a child,(Adam was out of short pants!!), my mother and I used to cut beans and store them in stone jars with layers of salt between. It was pre freezer days!!! they were lovely in winter. A good rinse, cooked and yum..... Did anyone else do that? OR AM I A REAL DINOSAUR???
