Wanderings and meanders

The label on this tree identified it as a member of the rose family and on googling Latin I've learned it's a hybrid hawthorn. It had rosehips growing among its golden leaves.

Beautiful light and treated to seeing two kingfishers. One of them even paused and hovered in flight, something I'd definitely never seen before. Though it was blink and miss it so probably not surprising.
