Copper Beech (Fagus sylvatica "purpurea" )
As the weeks go by I am making a point of trying to get my blip from the couple of hundred yards between the Lodge and the bins. Today the guests had very kindly emptied the bins but I still did the walk looking for blips. I took a number of shots, as I came round the corner toward the Lodge the neighbours Copper Beech was aglow with autumn colour.
The copper beech has been around as a variety since about 1700. I have never seen the autumn colour so brilliant on this or any other copper beech. As you can see the sun was catching it just right. What a glorious blaze of colour.
