Tiny Dancer

Today I led my last scheduled fungi walk of the season, although there's still lots around, especially in the grassland. With 23 attendees I didn't get much time for photography, but I couldn't resist getting a shot of this Porpolomopsis calyptriformis, the Pink Waxcap, or Ballerina as it is also called. At one time it was thought to be rare, so people were asked to look out for it and report on finds. Turned out it was actually pretty common.
They were a really nice crowd and we were blessed with wonderful weather. so a very pleasant way to round off the year
