Stolen Loup of Fintry
I can't take the credit for today's blip as it's pretty much just a copy of gblrps' from a few weeks back. Needless to say that the blip caught my eye and caused me to google 'Loup of Fintry' pretty much immediatley, figure out that it was within drivable distance and it went onto the top of my 'to explore' list.
Apparently you're not officially a Lanarkshirian (is that a thing?!) until you've climbed Meikle Bin and Tinto hill, and the path up Meikle Bin is pretty close to the waterfalls, so we did them both today. We were both a bit slow and still getting over the colds so felt pretty sheepish being passed by all the fell runners, but it was a stunning day to be out. Really warm in the sun and fantastic views from the top of the Trossachs, Stirling, Carron Valley and the rest of the Campsies. A fab wee hill. Very warm and still on the top, we just sat there soaking it in for a while.
As this is such a copy of gblrps' blip, I was thinking that I might post a picture of the valley to the Trossachs with the mountains in the background, but the haze didn't make for great photography conditions (at least not at my skill level) even if it was perfect walking weather. That plus the colours and the light in valley when we reached the waterfalls just made it. So sorry / not sorry.
