Shackleton

St Mawgan I went there on a summer camp with the ATC they had Avro Shackleton's then.
I recall eating mushrooms picked off the airfield and fried in local butter at the dispersal hut. There was also on dispersal an Avro Vulcan armed with nuclear weapons on standby for the 4 minute warning. We also had a search and rescue scramble following the disappearance of a HP Victor over Cardigan bay. The following day in the darkroom I saw the processed recce. Film showing oil slicks in the sea.
Wet morning here today duck supper.
