Scooter weekend

Hundreds and hundreds of 'em, seemingly outnumbering the seagulls, buzzing here and there like wasps. Like Vespas indeed, or Lambrettas, for Scarborough is the location for the first national scooter event of the season. Today the owners held a mass 'ride out' along the seafront, and what a sight it was too. I happen to love the little bikes, and appreciate the style and creativity that goes into ownership by the keenest. Back in the 60's, the scooter Mods had a reputation for disruption in seaside towns, particularly the friction with bikers, but now it's just a fun hobby for (dare I say...) middle age men. Have fun lads. It's gotta be more stylish than caravanning or golf...
