Marina Grande, Sorrento
Mild but overcast day today in Sorrento, so we went exploring round the old town and ended up in a restaurant at the Marina Grande for lunch. This blip was taken right outside the restaurant on the beach looking back at the houses clinging to the cliffs of what is really a small fishing village, although it is part of Sorrento. The houses look out onto the Bay of Sorrento, which is part of the Tirreno Sea and across to Naples and Vesuvius.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel for a siesta and when we looked out after the snooze it had obviously been raining heavily. Luckily by the time we headed out the rain had stopped and it was a mild evening. In fact the only thing keeping people wrapped up is the wind, which is cold.
After another walk around some of the very narrow streets of the old town we went into the Taverna dell' 800 for our evening meal, which is in the Via dell' Accademia and if you are ever in Sorrento I can thoroughly recommended it.
