Everybody Loves Something

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

Today was a big day. I felt like I was running hither and yon all day to do the thing. In fact I actually used the phrase, "Why don't I go and do the thing so you can do the other thing," to Shenée.

It was just that sort of day.

I did get a three month extension on my contract though. Now I will continue on at Kāinga Ora until March 31st. It was a bit of a relief. I had been stressing about leaving all my friends. Now I know I will enjoy their company for a few more months.

Shenée, meanwhile, was called away from work yesterday on account of a rooster with a broken foot. At least, that's what she thought. It turns out he was just a dramatic diva rooster who had sprained his toe.

"The vet was touching his foot and he was going meh-eh-eh-eh-eh," said Shenée, doing an excellent impression of a malingering chicken. So then she had to catch a taxi back to her farm.

"And the rooster was sound asleep in my arms," said Shenée. "But every now and again we'd go over a bump and he'd wake up - buck-AWK!!"

The taxi driver asked her if that was a chicken she was cradling in her arms. Shenée said it was.

The taxi driver shrugged. "Everybody loves something," he said.

It is true. And this is why I am very happy to be with my team until March 31st.
