Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 213
The beach is not visible in this blip but the Portobello Bay is and can be seen as an enticing salty blue slice carved through Edinburgh's Old Town by the High Street aka The Royal Mile. The proximity of the great city to the sea is always a delight and not fully appreciated by the hundreds of tourists pretending it was summer this afternoon. The street entertainers were not disabusing them of those thoughts.
I was in town to photograph the cycling hill climb but misunderstood the timings from a poster I had seen and arrived in the interval. Lady Findhorn is far better organised and she has blipped the early morning heats of this gruelling cycling challenge:
If you look closely at my blip you will see The Tron clock reads 1730. My picture was taken at 1630 - clearly The Tron clock controller had no intention of being up that tower at 0100 tomorrow morning to crank in British Summer Time!
