Sweet Chestnuts, Anyone?

We took Chloe for a walk at Gargunnock House this afternoon. This massive sweet chestnut tree is one of two in the parkland surrounding the house. These trees are not native to the U.K. Something else we can thank/blame the Romans for!
I do not know the age of this tree but suspect it may be about the same age as the big house, which would put it some three to four hundred years old!
