Having been confined to barracks yesterday, albeit eating hot cross buns, I was keen to get out in the fresh air today.

We headed to Hoylake for a bracing walk along the prom. The light was superb.

The lifeboat crew were just putting the boat away after having been out on exercise this morning. The lady driving the tractor is new and this was part of her training. The lady on the right, in the red cap, has just been promoted to deputy coxswain and she had been in charge of the morning's exercise which had included a couple of the crew going overboard.

I had lots of shots to choose from including a couple of police quad bikes racing across the sands and a group of four horses and their riders galloping along the beach.
