Full day today. We spent time with neighbours & learned so much. We talked to a man with a 3 legged dog who fell foul of a donkey. He also has a pet monkey that he takes shopping. M&S and Sainsbury’s are most accommodating but Morrissons asked that the monkey stays at home. He was in the armed forces, a paratrooper, with tours of both Northern Ireland and Germany. He now farms, maintains property and machinery and builds 1/3rd scale aircraft. Lots of them. Later in the day a knock on the door yielded a freezer full of farm produce ….. the people of Yorkshire are delightfully quirky, wonderfully generous ….. and refreshingly blunt. Mrs K is now known as “Essex” and I am, as yet, un-named. 

And I forgot to say that he has also painted a copy of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel on his living room ceiling. It looks stunning!
